We are a family of six and I’m the queen bee with four little boys and we live in Salt Lake City Utah. The ages of our boys are 7, 5, 3 and a little newbie 0.

tell us about your favorite holiday tradition to do as a family.

We’ve just recently started a tradition where we have advent calendar and we do service everyday leading up to Christmas. Whether that service is small or big its something we all look forward to. We usually plan our week on the Sunday and decide on what we’re going to do and the it makes it easier during the week to execute it.

you’ll have a brand new baby for the holidays this year! How does that make you feel? Any special plans to make the season go smoothly?

I love having a newborn for the holidays. Its a good reminder to slow down and to remember what its all about; family, our faith and service towards others. My plans for this holiday season to go more smoothly is to take the slow route and be more present with my family.

do you have a family holiday memory that you’d like to share that sticks out in your mind, or is always a good story at the dinner table that you’d like to share?

My husbands Dad works a lot over the holidays and one Christmas he was flying home on Christmas Eve night. We decided to cheer him up and spread a little Christmas cheer by giving him a surprise. We put together some simple reindeer costumes and decorating our truck with lights and other Christmas decor. We also had one of our siblings dress up as Santa Clause. As a family we all went to the airport to surprise him when we picked him up all decked out. When we got to the airport the people dressed up as reindeer got in front of the car, sang a Christmas song and pulled the decorated truck with Santa init. My husband’s dad was so surprised and we all had a good laugh, a good memory for sure.

do you have any favorite books or movies that are favorites for this season?

We love Charlie Brown movies for all the different holidays. A Wonderful Life is always a good one to watch as well!

Hello! We are a family of four with a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl! We currently reside in the Salt Lake City, Utah area and have been here for 3.5 years!

on her favorite holiday family traditions...

My favorite holiday tradition is having a family sleepover on Christmas Eve! We recently just got a King bed (we had a Queen before), so I am looking forward to being a little more comfortable this year!

any tips for new parents having their first holiday season as a family?

Just remember to cherish the time of being together as a family and all the wonderful festivities that the holidays bring. Watch your kids, spend time with them, and grow with them. They don’t stay little for long!

are there any things you like to do to rejuvenate and keep yourself (+the family) happy and positive during those busy times?

We like to make sure we have a good balance of bringing the kids out to all the holiday events like light shows, Santa breakfasts, etc. and spending time at home. I think making sure to do a little bit of both will keep you sane.

do you have a family holiday memory?

Honestly, I think our most memorable holidays are when we are able to spend time in Ohio or California with our extended family.  Sometimes it may be the only time we see them in a whole year! It is always great catching up with siblings, but even more fun are the kid’s being able to play with their cousins. It’s never a dull moment, that’s for sure! Also, being able to give gifts to family and seeing their reactions is priceless!

do you have any favorite books or movies that are favorites for this season?

Personally, I am a hopeless romantic so Love, Actually is my personal fave. As for my kids, A Charlie Brown Christmas is up there!

it’s important to us to find ways to give back to kids and communities. Is there anything your family participates or believes in when it comes to both giving back and gratitude?

Let’s be honest, we have so much “stuff” in our house that we don’t use or old toys that the kids don’t play with anymore, that we always make sure to take a good sweep and make donations during the holiday season. Toys that our kids don’t play with anymore, could turn into another kid’s favorite toy! There is no better feeling than being able to help out others.

tell us a little about your family.

My husband and I met in college in Utah! We have been married for 5 years and have 3 kids! Noah is 4, Olivia is 2 and Kingston is 8 months old! We are currently living in Arizona where my husband is finishing his Physician Assistant program this month!

how did you first hear about Hanna? Have you been able to pass down your #hannajams from last year yet?

I was born and raised in Sweden and I actually heard about your company Hanna Andersson. My kids LOVE your pjs and the quality of them. We pretty much wore Christmas pj’s until summer!

tell us about your favorite holiday tradition to do as a family.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions we started doing since we were married, is recording our family each Christmas eve. Then we watch family videos Christmas throughout the day, listen to Christmas songs and we go and drop off dinner with presents to a less fortunate family :)

often we look forward to much different things than our kids do…have your kids made up any traditions? What’s their favorite thing to do during the holidays? What’s yours?

They love watching the polar express and reading the book, pretty much every night! They also love eating traditional “Swedish Christmas food” on Christmas Eve. I just love being with my loved ones, eating, laughing, watching old videos and realizing how big my kids are getting!

the season can be a crazy time for new families, any tips for new parents having their first holiday season as a family?

Focus on what is more important! It is so easy to get caught up in social media watching what everyone else is doing. I like taking a break from social media and enjoying my family :)

do you have a family holiday memory that you’d like to share that sticks out in your mind, or is always a good story at the dinner table that you’d like to share?

Honestly, my mom always made a HUGE deal of Christmas eve and day. We always had a feast and lots of family and friends over. It wasn’t even about the presents, it was about being together and creating memories together. This is something I have done with my family. Last year was the first time my oldest fully understood the meaning of Christmas. We made cookies for Santa and on Christmas day he was absolutely amazed that Santa came and ate the cookies and brought presents!

do you have any favorite books or movies that are favorites for this season?

Polar Express is a hit in our home, and Home Alone :)

Our little family of four lives in Carlsbad, California. If you ever need to find us, the beach is a good first place to look. My husband Nate and I have two little boys, Remy is three and Sage is one.

tell us about your favorite holiday tradition to do as a family.

As a kid I remember spending the day before Christmas preparing a perfect Christmas dinner with my Grandma and cousins. We would go to the store and pick out some toys and that Christmas Eve we would pack everything into a big box and load it into the car. As we drove, my Grandparents would tell us about the family that would receive the Christmas in a box. They would be a family going through a hard time or just in need of a little extra love. We would sneak up to a families home, drop the box on the front door step and run. The run was always exciting because we wanted to keep the gift anonymous! I love that we had a special time together as a family trying to make some else’s Christmas special. We have carried on the tradition and still do it today with our kids.

any tips for new parents having their first holiday season all together?

My biggest tip is to manage expectations. Everything hardly goes as planned and there is no way to do it all. If you don’t have expectations, it makes it easier to enjoy the season and enjoy what comes.

knowing the holidays can also be a stressful time, is there any thing you like to do to rejuvenate and keep yourself (+the family) happy and positive during those busy times?

My kids thrive and are happiest when they are in a routine. It’s very important for us (especially around the holidays) to try our best to stick to their schedule. Food and sleep are key. As for myself... I will try and sneak away for a pedicure!

do you have a family holiday memory that you’d like to share that sticks out in your mind, or is always a good story at the dinner table that you’d like to share?

I’d never had a Christmas day away from my family until I was 23 years old. I spent that year in the hospital because I was an oncology nurse. Leaving my family to take care of others loved ones made it a very rewarding holiday. It was my mission to create a happy atmosphere for patients and their families that day. Luckily that day was pretty uneventful medical wise so I had time to spend with each of my patients. I sat and talked to each one about their favorite holiday memories.

any books or movies that are favorites for this season?

Every year I have to watch The Christmas Story..."You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!" That movie never gets old.
