Most days, the last thing we want to think about is what to wear. There's just nothing more frustrating then having a closet full of clothes and nothing to put on. Lately we've noticed a fashion trend starting to bubble up known as "minimalist dressing" - something we could definitely get on board with! The idea is to curate down your closet to 20-40 key items for each season that you A. Completely love B. Can easily mix-and-match and C. Are comfortable wearing again, and again... and again.
It was this concept that originally encouraged us to create our newest women's line Love, Hanna. The entire collection is made up of upgraded basics that both look and feel super luxe, and that you can also wear pretty much anytime, anywhere.
Taking inspiration from Love, Hanna, here is what we think are the essentials for crafting the perfect minimalist wardrobe for fall and winter.
First, you start off with the golden rule of three. You'll need:
- Three work & weekend-ready shirts
- Three cozy layering pieces
- Three pretty, comfy, and flattering skirts in seasonal colors & fabrics
- Three perfect pants workable for every occasion (*except black tie)
You'll also need a few key accessories in neutral colors to round out each outfit. (And of course, a pair of beautiful soft and luxurious PJ's!). Our picks are below:
It's that easy! 20 perfect pieces and you've got the ultimate, no-think Fall-and-beyond wardrobe. Here are 10 different ways we would wear the above.

Tell us: Would you ever consider significantly pairing down your wardrobe? There's something to be said for creating a wardrobe that is built on well-made basics. But is it easier said than done when it comes to re-wearing the same pieces over and over? We think it's a great way to simplify. Like the Swedish motto says "buy better, buy less."
