The Bear's Song by Benjamin Chaud

In this engaging and super-sweet book, two bears embark on a city adventure. Throughout the pages, Papa Bear searches for Little Bear who has escaped the bear den. Little Bear chases a buzzy bee through the city, leading both bears into an array of scenes where readers can play hide and seek with the bears and the bee.

Benjamin Chaud's dense illustrations are are beautifully amplified buy the book's larger format. And the colors are rich and could easily be used as inspiration for putting together an outfit or decorating a room.

The Bear's Song is a reading experience that is brimming with FUN! We love.

The Onion’s Great Escape by Sara Fanelli

Sara Fanelli's activity book asks young readers to help the onion break free by answering thought-provoking questions and completing the activities within, finally pressing a three-dimensional character right out of the pages. The illustrations are wildly imaginative and the vintage-inspired color palette makes you want to hang each page on the wall. It's gorgeous, interactive and so, so fun to read!

If You Want to See a Whale by Julie Fogliano

Sometimes it can be hard to be patient and focused, but if you have something enticing to aim for, then sitting and enjoying the process of waiting and watching can be a magical treat.

If You Want to See a Whale is a playfully serene book about a little boy who wants to see a whale. In order to do this, he has to resist some rather lovely distractions (delicate roses, sailing ships, a wise pelican, clouds floating in the sky) that try to turn him away from his ultimate goal. And though he notices these distractions, and learns from them, he continues to wait and watch until the time is just right to see his whale.

The illustrations by Erin Stead are delicate and playful and work really well with the soft, simple wisdom of the words on each page. It's definitely one of our favorite books and is a must read for everyone.

For Just One Day by Laura Leuck

For just one day, I'd like to be a busy, buzzing bumble...BEE!

In this beautifully illustrated book, kids can imagine the fun of being a variety of animals from around the world. They can be a bee, a snake, a whale, a porcupine, and, on the book's final page, an attached mirror reminds little ones that the very best thing they can be is exactly who they are. It's a book to be read and reread with wonder and delight.

Books by Hervé Tullet

We love the interactive, playful books by Hervé Tullet. Known in France as ‘The Prince of pre-school books’, Tullet takes the concept of reading to a new level, teaching young minds to think imaginatively, independently and creatively. Here are a few of our favorites:
